The team here at 3PESI is humming with excitement about the progress of our micro hydro generation! Development on our next turbine-driven product shows it is not only feasible and scalable, but very exciting to see in motion. Our projects currently include the City of Leavenworth in Eastern Washington, and a quarry in Ohio. We are excited to further discover the numerous applications for small hydro projects utilizing low rpm generation.

Leavenworth Micro-Hydro Project

Recent fit, form, and function testing of 3PESI’s micro-hydro device in the City of Leavenworth, Washington waste water treatment facility was conducted on Monday, February 21st. Initial tests and data collected indicate that the project will be a viable source for recapturing energy from low flow effluent water. This project is receiving assistance from the Washington State Technology Assistance Program to provide third party analysis of data.

Based on initial findings, the City of Leavenworth can expect to enjoy 1-3 kilowatts of electricity made from their waste-water.
